Frequently asked questions

How do I install AuditMySheet from Google Workspace Marketplace?
Open the AuditMySheet listing on Google Workspace Marketplace, choose Install, and follow the prompts to authorize the OAuth scopes. Then open a Google Sheet where you are the file owner, and use the Extensions menu to launch AuditMySheet. Installation must be completed by someone who can authorize the add-on for your Google account or domain, per your organization's policies.
Why don’t I see the AuditMySheet menu?
The sidebar and custom menu are visible to the spreadsheet owner only. Editors and viewers will not see AuditMySheet's UI; their edits are still logged silently in the background when they edit cells through the Sheets interface. If you are the owner and still do not see the menu, confirm the add-on is installed, try reloading the spreadsheet, and check whether an admin has blocked add-ons for your domain.
How do I select a Critical Sheet?
Open the AuditMySheet sidebar as the file owner. In the Pro tier, use the Critical Sheet controls to choose which sheet in the workbook should receive continuous mirror protection and recovery-point tabs. Only one Critical Sheet is supported at a time; changing the selection updates which sheet is protected going forward.
What is the Change Log and how do I read it?
The Change Log is a hidden system area maintained by the add-on. It records human edits with a timestamp, the user's email, sheet name, cell address, old value, new value, and action type, along with structural events such as row/column insert or delete and sheet rename or deletion. Open it from the owner sidebar to review activity. On Free, you see a preview of up to 1,000 rows; on Pro, you get the full rolling log (last 5,000 entries) with search and filter.
What is a Recovery Point and how do I use it?
On Pro, Recovery Points are dated tabs the add-on creates when large changes occur or when your Critical Sheet is deleted. They snapshot material you can copy from to restore values manually. There is no one-click restore—plan to copy ranges or values back into your working sheets as needed.
How do I export the change log?
Pro includes export of the full change log from the owner sidebar (for example, to CSV or Sheets-friendly formats, as provided in your version of the add-on). Use export for offline review, attachments to tickets, or sharing summaries with stakeholders. The Free tier does not include full export of the entire log beyond the preview limits.
What happens when my Critical Sheet is deleted?
On Pro, deleting the Critical Sheet triggers creation of a Recovery Point tab so you retain a dated copy you can work from. You should still follow your organization's backup and retention policies; AuditMySheet does not replace enterprise archiving or compliance programs.
